Channels & Members
Channels & Members
Channels are persistent team chats on the Channels page. This page covers managing them: members, invite links, renaming, archiving, and deletion.
Managing members
Open the member drawer either way:
- Click the participant avatars in the chat header
- Right-click the channel in the sidebar → Manage group (host only)
Adding people
The search field at the top of the drawer looks across your team, contacts, people you've met in meetings, and your organization directory. Clicking a person adds them immediately — no confirm step. People already in the channel are shown with an In channel badge; already-invited ones with Pending.
Adding someone external creates a pending invite (they get an email) rather than an instant member row. People you've met in a finished meeting are badged Met before; others outside your team are badged External.
Removing people
Tap a member row to remove that person. The Host row is fixed — the host can't be removed.
Pending invites
Hosts see an Invited — pending section listing outstanding invites, each with a Revoke invite button. Registered users are added the moment they're invited; everyone else joins on sign-up via the emailed link.
Invite link & email invites
The Invite members button (person-plus icon) in the drawer opens a dialog with both invite methods:
- Invitation Link — anyone with the link can join the channel. Copy it, or Regenerate to rotate the token — the old link stops working immediately. Useful if a link leaked.
- Email invites — paste addresses separated by commas, spaces, or new lines and click Send Email Invites. Each recipient gets a link to join this channel. Addresses already in the channel or already invited are flagged before anything is sent.
Renaming a channel
Right-click the channel in the sidebar → Rename (host only), or edit the title inline in the chat header. Leave the name empty to fall back to the default title built from participant names.
Channels created from a calendar-synced meeting take their title from the calendar event.
Archiving
Right-click a channel → Archive. Archived chats:
- move out of the main list into the archive view — the archive-box button in the sidebar header (it turns red when archived chats hold unread messages)
- are muted: their unread counts stay per-chat but leave the global badge
- lose their pinned position
The archive view has its own search box. To bring a chat back, open its menu in the archive and click Restore.
Deleting a channel
Deletion is available from the archive view only: archive the channel first, then open its menu → Delete. A confirmation dialog warns that all messages, files, and channel history are permanently deleted — this cannot be undone.
