Screen Sharing & Recording
Screen Sharing & Recording
Screen Sharing
Share your screen to present documents, slides, or applications during a meeting.
How to Share Your Screen
- Click the Share screen button in the meeting control bar (on a narrow window it moves into the More menu)
- Your browser will show a screen sharing dialog
- Choose what to share:
- Entire Screen — Share everything visible on your screen
- Application Window — Share a specific application
- Browser Tab — Share a single browser tab (audio included)
- Click Share
During Screen Sharing
- Other participants see your shared screen as the main display
- Your camera video moves to a smaller tile
- You can use the laser pointer to highlight areas on your shared screen — see the Screen Share & Laser Pointer feature page for how it lands on every display
- Click Stop screen sharing to end the screen share
Presenter Modes
While you are sharing, the arrow next to the Share button opens Presenter mode — how your camera sits with your content on everyone else's screen. You pick it; every participant sees the layout you chose, including people who join after you picked it.
| Mode | What everyone sees |
|---|---|
| Content only | Your content fills the stage; your camera stays in the filmstrip with everyone else. This is the default. |
| Standout | Your camera floats over the content in the bottom-left corner. |
| Side by side | The stage splits: content on the left, your camera on the right. On a narrow phone screen the camera moves under the content instead. |
Notes:
- The mode needs your camera on. With the camera off, everyone stays on Content only until you turn it back on.
- Your camera is shown as it is — InterMIND does not cut you out of your background.
- The mode applies to your own share. If several people are sharing at once, each share carries the mode its presenter picked.
- Viewers keep their own zoom (Zoom to fit / Original size) and the laser pointer in every mode — the content is never re-encoded, so it stays as sharp as what you captured.
Tips for Screen Sharing
- Close notifications and private content before sharing your entire screen
- Sharing a browser tab includes tab audio, which is useful for sharing videos
- The shared content quality depends on the video resolution setting

Mobile Screen Sharing
Share your screen from the InterMIND app on iOS and Android — no desktop needed.
How to Share Your Screen
- Open the ··· (More) menu during a meeting
- Tap Share screen
- Your phone's system dialog appears — on iOS this is the screen broadcast picker, on Android the screen-capture consent prompt
- Confirm to start
Unlike sharing a window or tab on desktop, a mobile share always sends your entire screen — that's a platform limit (iOS ReplayKit and Android MediaProjection both only capture the full screen).
During Screen Sharing
- Other participants see your screen the same way they would a desktop share
- Tap Stop screen sharing in the ··· menu to end it — or use your phone's own system control (the recording indicator in the status bar on Android, or the red bar at the top of the screen on iOS)
- If the host has turned off screen sharing for participants, the option shows an explanation instead of starting a share
Recording
Record meetings for later review or to share with people who couldn't attend. Both recording modes live in the More menu, and there are two of them:
| Item | Who sees it | Where the file goes |
|---|---|---|
| Start server recording | Moderators (the host and promoted moderators) | Your team's cloud storage |
| Start local recording | Anyone whose browser supports screen capture | Downloaded to your own device |
Server Recording
- Open the More menu and click Start server recording
- A Recording indicator appears in the control bar for everyone in the room
- Click Stop server recording in the same menu to end it
Before it starts, InterMIND checks the meeting host's storage: if the team is at capacity the recording is refused with an explanation, and if the host can't be resolved you get a "couldn't verify the storage limit" notice instead.
Local Recording
- Open the More menu and click Start local recording
- Your browser asks for permission to capture your screen — select your screen or tab
- The recording captures your microphone audio, tab audio (other participants' voices and translations), and the screen content
- The item turns into Stop local recording with a running timer; you can also stop it with the browser's own "Stop sharing" button
- On stop, the file downloads to your device as
.webm(or.mp4, depending on your browser)
A local recording never touches team storage, so no storage check applies to it.
Important Notes About Recording
- Browser protection — If you try to close the browser tab during recording, a warning dialog appears to prevent accidental data loss
- Recording status — Other participants can see that a server recording is running
- Host ownership — Server recordings count toward the meeting host's storage quota, regardless of who started them
Recording Storage
Server recordings are stored in your team's shared cloud storage. Storage limits depend on your plan:
| Plan | Storage Limit |
|---|---|
| Basic | 1 GB |
| Pro | 30 GB |
| Business | 1 TB |
| Enterprise | 5 TB |
To manage recordings and storage, see Team Storage.
Present to Everyone (Stage Sync)
When two or more things are shared at once — screens, a document or note, a recap — each participant can look at whichever one they want without affecting anyone else. Click a share's tile in the sidebar to bring it into your own main area; that choice is private and changes only what you see.
Present to everyone pushes what you're currently looking at onto every participant's main stage at once:
- Bring the share you want onto your main area
- Click Present to everyone above the main stage
- That share becomes the main-area view for every participant, immediately — including someone who joins the meeting afterwards
The button only appears when your current main-area view isn't already the one presented to the room, and only while two or more things are shared — with a single share, it's already everyone's default main view.
Scrolling and Zooming a Shared Tab
If you share a browser tab (not a full screen or an application window), you can scroll its content for everyone without switching back to that tab yourself:
- Share a browser tab
- Make sure your preview is in fit view (the magnifying-glass button toggles between fit and original size)
- Scroll with your mouse wheel over your own share preview — the tab you're sharing scrolls, and everyone watching sees it move
The first scroll asks your browser for permission. If it's blocked, allow "Scrolling & zooming of shared tabs" in your browser's site permissions and share the tab again. This only works for the person sharing the tab, in Chromium-based desktop browsers (Chrome, Edge) — everywhere else scrolling stays local to you. Viewers keep their own fit / original size choice and the laser pointer regardless of what the sharer scrolls to.
