Voice Notes

Record a voice note into any channel — it arrives as a message in everyone's own language, with the recording one tap away.

Voice Notes

Some things are faster to say than to type — a thought after a call, a decision taken in the hallway, a status for the team while you walk. A voice note records it into the channel, and InterMIND turns it into a text message on its own — one everybody reads in their own language.

Voice notes are included on every plan.

Recording a Voice Note

In the web app and in the InterMIND mobile apps, the composer of every channel and direct chat shows a microphone button in place of send while the message field is empty. The chat of a live meeting has no microphone button: there you are already speaking to the room, and the room already hears you in its languages.

  1. Tap the microphone. The browser or the phone asks for microphone access the first time.
  2. Speak — while you record, a red dot pulses at the message field, the field says Recording… and the button turns into send. The field stays open: anything you type meanwhile goes out with the note.
  3. Tap send to stop the recording and send the note. The note goes first, your text follows it as a message.

A voice note can be up to ten minutes long. At the limit the recording stops on its own and waits in the composer for your next send.

What Everyone Gets

A voice note is an ordinary chat message. Its text is what you said — transcribed within seconds — and, like every message in InterMIND, each teammate reads it in their own language. A play button on the message plays the recording itself, with elapsed and total time next to it. Everything a message can do, a voice note can do: search finds it, it can be quoted, forwarded and copied, and Show original in the message menu shows the transcript as it was spoken.

While the transcript is on its way the message shows Transcribing…; if nothing was said, or speech recognition is unavailable, it says so in the same place and the recording stays playable.

Voice notes work in any channel, including the channel you keep for yourself — a quick way to dictate notes for later.

Where the Audio Goes

Speech recognition for voice notes runs on Azure AI Speech in InterMIND's own Azure tenant — the speech service of the default AI gateway, the same EU gateway that writes InterMIND's meeting summaries. Organizations whose AI gateway is Vertex AI or Amazon Bedrock get the recording without a transcript for now. The recogniser is told the speaker's own language, so a short note is never mistaken for another language. The transcript is translated by InterMIND's own engine like every chat message. The recording is stored with the channel's other files and is deleted with the message. Every hop is listed on the trust page.
