How to bring your Telegram chats into InterMIND — and read them in your own language

For a lot of teams, the real work doesn't happen in meetings. It happens in Telegram: the group where decisions get made at 11pm, the one-on-one where the client sends the contract, the voice note that settles an argument. Meanwhile the meetings — and their recaps, notes and history — live in InterMIND channels, where every member reads them in their own language.

That splits the team's record in two. One half persists in a space built for it; the other half stays in Telegram, in whatever language it was typed, findable only by whoever was in the chat.

The InterMIND Telegram bot closes that split in one direction: Telegram in, InterMIND keeps it. It mirrors groups, relays your one-on-one chats, and files anything you forward to it — into the same channels where your meetings already live. And once a message is in a channel, it behaves like every other InterMIND message: each member reads it in their own language, history included.

One design decision shapes everything below: the bot never asks where a message should go. There are no dialogs, no per-message prompts. Three rules decide the destination, anything the rules can't resolve lands in your private Inbox, and you can override any route with one pin. Here is the whole system.

Three ways in

All three start with the same step.

Step 1: connect your account

In the InterMIND web app, open Settings → Telegram and press Connect Telegram. It opens Telegram with a personal link — press Start, and the bot confirms which account it's now connected to. The link is single-use and expires after 15 minutes; if you let it lapse, press the button again.

Two things worth knowing about the binding:

• One Telegram account connects to one InterMIND account. Connecting the same Telegram from a different InterMIND account moves the binding there — the old account stops receiving.
• Connecting comes first. A bot added to a group by someone who hasn't connected can't mirror anything — it says so in the group and waits.

Disconnecting is symmetric: send /stop to the bot, or press Disconnect in Settings → Telegram. Everything already ingested stays where it landed — it's your channels' history now.

Mirror a group

Add the bot to the Telegram group as an ordinary member. It immediately posts one message saying who connected it and where the group's messages will flow — so every member of the group knows the mirror exists.

The destination rule is the group's name:

• If you have a channel in InterMIND with the same name as the group, messages mirror there. The match is exact — letter case and surrounding spaces are ignored, but there is no fuzzy matching.
• No channel with that name — or two of them, which is ambiguous — and messages go to your Inbox instead. The bot never guesses.

The name is the router, and it's live: rename the group or the channel and the route follows the new names on the next message. If you want a route that survives renames, pin it (below). The matched channel has to be one you created — the mirror follows the person who added the bot, and everything the group says lands in that person's channel, where its members read it.

Removing the bot from the group stops the mirror. This route covers groups and supergroups; Telegram broadcast channels are not part of it.

Secretary mode: your one-on-one chats

Groups have a bot in them, visibly. Your personal chats don't — so for those, Telegram has a different mechanism: Telegram Business lets you connect a chatbot to your own account, scoped to chats you choose. Telegram makes Business features available to Premium subscribers (checked August 2026).

In Telegram: Settings → Telegram Business → Chatbots, pick the InterMIND bot, and choose which chats it can access — Telegram's own controls let you exclude your contacts, limit it to new chats, or exclude specific people.

From then on, when someone you've included writes to you:

• If they're on InterMIND too (with their own Telegram connected), and there is exactly one channel whose members are exactly the two of you — the message lands in that shared channel.
• Anything else — the sender isn't on InterMIND, or there's no unambiguous shared channel — lands in your Inbox.

Only the other side's messages are ingested. What you write in the chat stays where you wrote it — the point is to keep what's sent to you, not to copy your own outbox.

The Inbox, and the one manual control

Every routing rule above falls back to the same place: your Inbox — a private channel, one per account, visible to you alone. It's the honest answer to ambiguity: better a message in your Inbox than a guess in the wrong channel. It's also the direct target: forward anything to the bot — a message, a link, a file — and it's in your Inbox.

The Inbox is where the one manual control lives. Open the context menu on any Telegram message in it and choose Always deliver to a channel… — pick one of your channels, and from then on everything from that Telegram chat goes there. A pin overrides the name rule and the shared-channel rule; it's the only routing state you ever set by hand. Pins are listed — and removed — in Settings → Telegram, under Chat routing.

What lands, exactly

• Text arrives as ordinary channel messages. Each member reads it in their own language, on demand, like any other message in the channel — the same chat-translation allowance of your plan applies. Sender name and photo come along, so the channel shows who said it in Telegram.
• Photos, files, video and voice notes are stored in the channel, and count toward your plan's storage. If your storage is full, the bot tells you so and skips the file — text keeps flowing. InterMIND does not transcribe or translate media on ingest: a voice note arrives as an audio file, not as text.
• Captions travel with their files as text, so they translate like any message.
• Edits follow, deletions don't. Edit a mirrored message in Telegram and the channel copy updates, keeping its edit history. Delete one in Telegram and the channel copy stays — ingest is one-way, and what's in your space is yours.
• Nothing is posted back. The bot never sends your InterMIND replies into Telegram. The only messages it ever writes are service notices: the connection announcement in a group, the storage warning, the /start and /stop confirmations.

Who sees what

• In the group: the bot is an ordinary member — everyone can see it in the member list, and it announces the mirror when it's added. Nothing about the group route is invisible.
• In InterMIND: mirrored group messages land in the connecting person's channel, where that channel's members read them. Secretary-mode messages land in the shared two-person channel or in the Inbox. The Inbox itself is strictly personal — no one else can be in it.
• Off switch: /stop to the bot or Disconnect in Settings ends everything at once; removing the bot from a group ends that group's mirror; unpinning a chat returns it to the rules.

FAQ

How do I connect Telegram to InterMIND?

Open Settings → Telegram in the InterMIND app, press Connect Telegram, and press Start in the Telegram chat that opens. The personal link is single-use and expires after 15 minutes. To disconnect, send /stop to the bot or press Disconnect in the same Settings card.

Does InterMIND mirror Telegram groups?

Yes. Add the InterMIND bot to the group as a member (after connecting your account). Groups and supergroups are covered; Telegram broadcast channels are not.

Do I need Telegram Premium for this?

Only for Secretary mode, because it runs on Telegram Business, which Telegram makes available to Premium subscribers (checked August 2026). Mirroring groups and forwarding messages to the bot need no Premium.

What happens if I rename the Telegram group or the InterMIND channel?

The group route matches names live, so the route follows the new names: if they no longer match, messages fall back to your Inbox until the names align again — or until you pin the chat to a channel, which overrides name matching entirely.

Are messages from Telegram translated?

Text messages behave like any InterMIND channel message: each member reads them in their own language, translated on demand under your plan's chat-translation allowance. Files, photos, video and voice notes are stored as files — InterMIND does not transcribe or translate media on ingest.

Does the bot post anything back into my Telegram chats?

No. Ingest is one-way — your InterMIND replies stay in InterMIND. The bot only ever writes service notices: the announcement when it's added to a group, a storage-full warning, and confirmations for /start and /stop.

Who can read what the bot brings in?
