Best MCP servers for meetings (2026): what Zoom, Teams, Fireflies, Otter, Granola and InterMIND expose to your AI assistant

A year ago "connect my meetings to my AI" meant copying a transcript into a chat window. Now most meeting tools ship a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server: a hosted endpoint your assistant signs into once, after which it can search your meetings, pull a transcript, read a summary — and, in a few cases, do something on your behalf — from the same conversation where it already works with your mail, CRM and tickets.

The catch is that "has an MCP server" tells you almost nothing. One vendor's server exposes nineteen tools and another's exposes three. One lets any account connect, another requires a licence the team may not have. One returns a transcript, another returns a link to a recording. This guide compares the servers the way you would evaluate them: what the assistant can do, who is allowed to connect, how you sign in, and where the server is listed — using only what each vendor states in its own documentation, checked in September 2026. We make one of these (InterMIND); we say where it fits and where it does not.

New to the protocol? MCP is an open standard for giving AI assistants tools and data. A remote MCP server is one the vendor hosts at a URL; you add the URL to your assistant, sign in, and the assistant discovers the tools itself.

The three questions that separate the servers

1. Can the assistant only read, or can it act?

Almost every meeting MCP server is a read layer over recordings: search meetings, fetch a transcript, fetch a summary. That is useful — "what did we agree with Acme last week?" answered without opening another app — but it is a rear-view mirror. A smaller set of servers also lets the assistant act: create a meeting, share a report, post into a channel. If your workflow is "AI drafts the follow-up and books the next call", the second group is the one to look at.

2. Who is allowed to connect?

The plan gate is where the surprises are. Some servers are documented as available to every account, some only to paid tiers, some only to users holding a specific AI licence on top of the seat. Since the person connecting is usually not the person paying, check this before you tell the team to try it.

3. Where does it run, and how do you sign in?

Every server in this list is hosted by the vendor (remote, Streamable HTTP). The difference is sign-in: most use OAuth (you approve the connection in a browser and can revoke it), a few also accept an API key for tools that cannot run an OAuth flow (editors, CLIs). Whether the server appears in the Claude Connectors Directory or the official MCP Registry tells you how much setup the first-time user faces: a listed connector is one click; an unlisted one is a URL to paste.

All facts from vendor documentation, checked September 2026; "n/d" = not documented on the pages we checked (sources at the end).

Two rows deserve a note. Google Meet has no MCP server of its own as of September 2026: Google's Workspace MCP page lists Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Chat and People, and the Meet developer page does not mention MCP. Microsoft Teams is reachable through Work IQ, but the documented Teams server is about chats, channels and messages; no transcript or recording tool is listed on that page, and the two Microsoft pages that describe licensing disagree with each other (a Copilot licence on one, usage-based billing on the other), so ask your admin which applies to your tenant.

What each server does, in the vendor's words

Zoom

Zoom hosts several servers ("Zoom", "Zoom Meetings", "Zoom Docs", "Zoom Team Chat", "Zoom Tasks", "Zoom Whiteboard", "Zoom Revenue Accelerator"), all "over streamable HTTP". The Zoom Meetings server exposes search_meetings (returns "availability of transcripts, summaries, or recordings"), get_meeting_assets ("summary, cloud recording, whiteboards, Zoom Docs, and the agenda document"), get_recording_resource ("transcript, summary, next step, and the corresponding playback link") and recordings_list, which requires "a Pro or a higher plan" with Cloud Recording enabled. The workspace server adds ask, an agentic search that "requires either a ZoomMate license or a Custom AI Companion license". Sign-in is OAuth with PKCE, and "Zoom remote MCP servers only support manual client registration through app creation". The Claude connector requires "a Licensed user on a Zoom Workplace Pro, Pro Plus, Business, Business Plus, Enterprise, Enterprise Plus, or Enterprise Bundle account" and depends on AI Companion's Smart Recording and Meeting Summary being enabled. Neither server page lists a tool that creates or schedules a meeting.

Microsoft 365 and Teams (Work IQ)

Microsoft's Work IQ MCP "exposes Microsoft 365 intelligence capabilities to AI agents … through a single MCP endpoint", with per-workload servers for Mail, Calendar, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Word and Copilot. Clients "automatically discover the authentication configuration through the /.well-known/oauth-protected-resource endpoint" (Entra ID). The generic server's tools are verbs over Graph paths: fetch, ask, search_paths, create_entity, update_entity, do_action, call_function. The Teams server's tools are chat- and channel-scoped (listChats, listChatMessages, postMessage, createChat, listChannels, postChannelMessage); meetings appear in the Work IQ overview as one of the unified signals, but no transcript tool is named on the pages we checked. Documented clients: Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and coding agents ("GitHub Copilot CLI, Claude Code, and VS Code"). Separately, the Claude directory carries a "Microsoft 365" connector made by Anthropic with mail, calendar, SharePoint and chat-message search.

Google Meet and Workspace

Google documents remote MCP servers for Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Chat and People, "available as part of the Google Workspace Developer Preview Program", with OAuth 2.0. There is no Meet server on that page, no Meet entry in the Workspace release notes through September 2026, and the Meet developer landing page does not mention MCP. If you need Meet recordings in an assistant today, the vendor-documented route is Drive (where Meet stores them) rather than a Meet-specific server.

Fireflies

Fireflies runs a remote server at api.fireflies.ai/mcp that "uses OAuth with your Fireflies account" and also accepts an API key in a Bearer header. It is the widest tool surface in this list: nineteen tools covering search, transcripts, summaries, active meetings, analytics, sharing and revoking access, renaming and moving meetings, channels, soundbites, users, groups and contacts. The changelog states that the plan rate limits "also apply to the MCP server": 50 requests per day on Free, 500 per day on Pro, 60 per minute on Business and Enterprise. Documented clients: Claude, Claude Desktop, Devin, "OpenAI Connector, Cursor".

Otter.ai

Otter's remote server at mcp.otter.ai/mcp is "OAuth-authenticated with granular permissions. Your AI assistant can only access meetings you explicitly authorize." Three tools: get_user_info, search ("Search for meetings and get an overview") and fetch ("Retrieves a full speech transcript of a meeting or conversation"). The pricing page shows "MCP server integration for AI assistants" checked on all four tiers. Documented clients: Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Perplexity and "other MCP-compatible platforms via JSON configuration".

Granola

Granola's remote server at mcp.granola.ai/mcp supports "browser-based OAuth and Enterprise-Managed Authorization (EMA)"; "there is no API key or service account access method for MCP". Six tools: query_granola_meetings, list_meetings, get_meetings, get_meeting_transcript (paid), list_meeting_folders (paid), get_account_info, with a rate limit of "around 100 requests per minute". Free accounts get "personal notes from the last 30 days"; Enterprise scopes are admin-configured, and "if neither scope is enabled, members cannot use Granola MCP".

tl;dv

tl;dv offers a hosted connector in the Claude and ChatGPT marketplaces (OAuth) and an open-source local server keyed by TLDV_API_KEY. The connector's tools are search-meetings, get-meeting-metadata, get-meeting-notes, get-meeting-transcript and get-user-profile. The help centre requires a tl;dv "Pro Plan (or higher)" plus a paid Claude or ChatGPT plan; the GitHub README of the local server states "A Business or Enterprise tl;dv account is required."

Fathom

Fathom "now offers an official MCP (Model Context Protocol) server" at api.fathom.ai/mcp, with an official Claude connector (for teams, "an owner must first enable the connector"), a ChatGPT app, and a Claude Code recipe via mcp-remote. The vendor pages describe the experience ("ask Claude about your meetings") without enumerating the tools, and an unauthenticated tools request answers 401. Plan requirements are not stated on the MCP pages.

Read AI

Read AI's remote server at api.read.ai/mcp is "currently available as an open beta release" with "OAuth 2.1 (sign in using your Read AI account)"; "access tokens expire after 10 minutes, and refresh tokens are single-use". Four tools: get meeting by id, list meetings, create meeting agent, share meeting report — one of the two servers in this list with documented actions beyond reading. It is "available to all users regardless of plan or workspace", provided the workspace has the Downloads option enabled, with a limit of 100 requests per minute per user.

InterMIND

InterMIND's remote server at intermind.com/api/mcp exposes ten tools. Reading: list_recaps (newest recaps with the summary in Markdown and links to the recap and transcript pages), search_recaps (a phrase over the current summaries of meetings you attend, with a snippet around the match), get_transcript (the transcript grouped by speaker, in the spoken language or your cached translation, cut at a limit with a link to the full page), list_meetings (recent or upcoming), list_channels, get_channel_messages (the text as written plus, when the room already translated it, the text in your language) and list_documents (uploads and linked Drive / OneDrive files). Acting: create_meeting_link creates an ad-hoc meeting you own and returns its URL; schedule_meeting creates one at a local time and writes it to your connected Google or Microsoft calendar with the invitees (without a connected calendar the link still works but carries no time); post_channel_message writes into a channel as you, and every member reads it in their own language. Sign-in is OAuth 2.1 — the assistant opens an InterMIND page listing what it will be able to do, the connection appears in Settings → API keys under the assistant's name, where you can revoke it — or a static API key for clients that take a header (Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Copilot Studio). It is available on every registered account, including the free Basic plan; guests cannot connect apps. It is listed in the Claude Connectors Directory and in the official MCP Registry, and works with any MCP client. Every participant takes part in the meeting in their own language, so the assistant does not need to know which language the call was in.

Honest limits. Reading stops at the meetings you host or attend; a meeting you are not in answers "not found". Recap search is a substring match over the current summary, not semantic search. The transcript comes back in the language it was spoken unless the room already translated it for you. The assistant cannot join a meeting, speak in it, or change your settings, and a connection made before September 2026 keeps only the two original rights (meeting links, recaps) until you reconnect.

How to read the table for your own case

• You want the assistant to prepare the next call, not just summarise the last one. Look at the "Act" column: Read AI (create meeting agent, share report), InterMIND (create or schedule a meeting, post to a channel), Fireflies (share, rename, move, soundbites), Microsoft Work IQ (post messages, create entities). Zoom, Otter, Granola and tl;dv document read tools only.
• The team is on free or mixed plans. Otter, Read AI and InterMIND document the server as available on every tier; Fireflies allows Free with 50 requests per day; Granola's Free tier excludes transcripts and folders; Zoom's Claude connector needs a licensed Pro-or-higher seat plus AI Companion; tl;dv needs Pro or higher.
• Your assistant is Copilot. Microsoft's own route is Work IQ; third-party servers connect through Copilot Studio's MCP tool with OAuth or a header. InterMIND and Granola document Copilot explicitly.
• Your assistant is an editor or CLI without a browser flow. Fireflies, tl;dv (local) and InterMIND accept an API key; Granola documents no key method; Zoom requires a registered OAuth app.
• You need the transcript itself, not a link. Otter (fetch), Fireflies (fireflies_get_transcript), Granola (get_meeting_transcript, paid), tl;dv (get-meeting-transcript), Zoom (get_recording_resource) return transcript content; InterMIND (get_transcript) returns the transcript by speaker, cut at a limit with a link to the full page.

Connect InterMIND to your assistant

• Claude: open the InterMIND connector, click Connect, allow the connection on the InterMIND page.
• ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors → Developer mode → Create a connector with https://intermind.com/api/mcp and OAuth.
• Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http intermind https://intermind.com/api/mcp, then /mcp to sign in.
• Copilot Studio, Cursor, Gemini, Windsurf, VS Code: add a remote MCP server with the same URL; OAuth where the client supports it, otherwise a key from Settings → API keys.

What is an MCP server for meetings? A hosted endpoint, published by a meeting or note-taking tool, that an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Cursor) can sign into and call as tools: search your meetings, fetch a transcript or summary, and in some cases create a meeting or share a report. It uses the Model Context Protocol, an open standard, so the same server works in any assistant that supports remote MCP.

Does Zoom have an MCP server? Yes. Zoom hosts several remote servers on mcp.zoom.us (Zoom, Zoom Meetings, Docs, Team Chat, Tasks, Whiteboard, Revenue Accelerator) with OAuth and manual app registration. The Zoom Meetings server exposes search_meetings, get_meeting_assets, get_recording_resource and recordings_list. The Claude connector requires a licensed user on Workplace Pro or higher with AI Companion Smart Recording and Meeting Summary enabled (checked September 2026).

Does Microsoft Teams have an MCP server? Through Work IQ, yes: Microsoft documents a Teams server for chats, channels and messages, plus a general Work IQ server that queries mail, meetings, documents and Teams messages over Graph paths, authenticated with Entra ID. No transcript tool is named on the Teams server page. Microsoft's pages state different licensing gates (a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence on one, usage-based billing on another), so confirm with your admin.

Does Google Meet have an MCP server? Not as of September 2026. Google's Workspace MCP page lists Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Chat and People servers under the Developer Preview Program; Meet is not among them, and the Meet developer page does not mention MCP.

Do Fireflies and Otter have MCP servers? Both do. Fireflies: api.fireflies.ai/mcp, OAuth or API key, nineteen tools, plan rate limits apply (Free 50 requests/day). Which meeting MCP servers let the assistant do more than read? From vendor documentation: Read AI (create meeting agent, share meeting report), InterMIND (create meeting link, schedule a meeting in the calendar, post a channel message), Fireflies (share meeting, revoke access, rename, move, create soundbite) and Microsoft Work IQ (post messages, create chats, create and update entities). Zoom, Otter, Granola, tl;dv and Fathom document read tools only on the pages we checked.

Do I need a paid plan to use a meeting MCP server? It depends on the vendor. Otter, Read AI and InterMIND document availability on every account. Fireflies allows Free with 50 requests per day. Granola's Free tier covers personal notes from the last 30 days without transcripts. tl;dv requires Pro or higher. Zoom's Claude connector requires a licensed Pro-or-higher seat with AI Companion. Microsoft's pages disagree with each other about Work IQ.

Can my assistant create a meeting link with InterMIND? Yes. create_meeting_link creates a meeting you own and returns its URL; put it in a calendar invite, a deal or a ticket, and admit people when they knock. schedule_meeting does the same at a given time and writes the event to your connected calendar. The assistant acts as you: it can also read recaps, transcripts and channels of meetings you attend and post in your channels, but it cannot join a meeting, speak in it, or change settings.

Which assistants can connect to InterMIND? Any MCP client: Claude (listed in the Connectors Directory), ChatGPT (Developer mode), Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, VS Code, Microsoft 365 Copilot via Copilot Studio, Gemini, Le Chat, Perplexity and agent SDKs. OAuth where the client supports it, otherwise an API key.

In which language does the assistant get the meeting back? Vendor MCP pages we checked do not document the language of the returned content. In InterMIND every participant takes part in their own language, and the recap the assistant reads is the one the connected account sees.

Is a meeting MCP server safe to connect? Every server here uses OAuth (Zoom, Microsoft, Google, Otter, Granola, Read AI, InterMIND) or OAuth plus an optional key (Fireflies, tl;dv). Look for three things in the documentation: the scope the assistant gets (Zoom lists per-tool scopes; Otter states "only access meetings you explicitly authorize"), how to revoke (InterMIND: Settings → API keys; Read AI: 10-minute access tokens), and whether the server can act, not just read — an acting server deserves a narrower grant.
