Empty the stage

Every participant's stage is their own. Clicking a video tile moves it between the main stage and the sidebar; move every tile to the sidebar and the stage empties. What appears instead is a getting-started panel: shortcut reminders for translation, layout, chat and devices, and a Copy Link button — the meeting's permanent link, ready to paste to the person who is late.

To bring the tiles back, click anywhere on the background or press Alt + L (Option + L on a Mac): the layout resets to its defaults.

Nothing else changes. Everyone still hears you; you still hear everyone, each in your own language; the chat sidebar is one key away (Alt + H); the microphone toggles with Alt + M. Your own camera can be off the whole time — start muted and with the camera off on the pre-join screen, and the room is an audio room from the first second.

What an audio call does here that a phone call does not

  • Everyone in their own language. The room translates each voice for each listener as they speak; a two-language call is two languages, one per ear. Subtitles are one click away for the part you want to read.
  • The chat is in the room. A link, a file, a note dropped into the sidebar reaches everyone, in their language, and stays in the channel's history if the call is a channel's.
  • The recap comes afterwards. After every transcribed meeting the signed-in participants get the summary and the full transcript, each reading the summary in their own language — an audio call is transcribed like any other.
  • Guests join by link. Someone outside the team joins by the same link with a name, no account; the host admits them.

On a phone: a call that survives other apps

On a phone the audio call is what the InterMIND app is for. Its foreground service keeps the call running when you switch to another app or lock the screen, and push notifications reach you between calls. Idle, and coming back

Thirty minutes without a mouse or keyboard and InterMIND marks you as away: your microphone is muted and a notice tells you why. You are not removed — listening to a translated conversation without speaking is an ordinary way to be in a call — and any key or mouse movement clears the away state. Coming back does not unmute you; you unmute when you choose to speak.
