Mia joins your meetings, voice notes, and a live whiteboard

This week introduces Mia as an active participant in your meetings, voice notes in team chats, and a collaborative whiteboard. We also shipped a public API with an MCP connector, desktop passkey support, and a test room for pre-meeting checks.

• Mia as a meeting participant — Mia now joins your meetings as an agentic participant. Hosts and moderators can command her directly, she proactively posts relevant notes to the chat, and licensed participants of paid plans can ask her questions by voice or in the private mode of the meeting chat. Asked aloud, she answers aloud in each participant's translation language. Update, 19 September 2026: Mia in meetings went back to preview — she is tested inside InterMIND and is not switched on for customer organizations until the preview ends.
• Voice notes in chat — You can now record and send voice messages in team channels and meeting chats. Transcripts are automatically generated and translated into each reader's language.
• Live whiteboard — A real-time whiteboard is available in meetings on paid plans. All participants can draw simultaneously, and the scene is saved for anyone who joins late.
• Public API and MCP connector — You can now connect AI assistants like Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot to InterMIND via the Model Context Protocol. The connector lets your assistant schedule meetings, search recaps, read channels, and list documents using your own API keys.
• Desktop passkey login — The desktop app now uses your system browser for login. This allows you to use passkeys and saved identity provider sessions for a faster, more secure sign-in.
• Meeting test room — You can now test your camera, microphone, speakers, screen sharing, and network in a dedicated test room before joining a meeting.
• Host transfer in live calls — Hosts and team admins can transfer the host role to another licensed team member during an active meeting without anyone needing to rejoin.
• Presenter modes for screen sharing — When sharing your screen, you can now choose between different presenter layouts, similar to standard video conferencing tools.
• Browser extension for Edge — The InterMIND browser extension is now available in the Edge Add-ons store, letting you see the call while presenting in Microsoft Edge.

Improved

• Chat interface on mobile — The in-meeting chat is now a layer over the video stage on mobile devices, letting you view messages and the call simultaneously. The chat composer also matches the mobile web layout.
• Landing page experience — The homepage now features a live room preview with Mia. First-time visitors can start a conversation directly, and returning users see the full landing page.
• Onboarding checklist — The setup checklist now includes steps for adding your name and recording a voice sample for translation in your own voice.
• Product emails — All transactional emails, including onboarding nudges and recap notifications, are now sent in your chosen translation language.
• Mobile landscape layout — The meeting cockpit moves to a vertical rail on the right side of the screen when viewing in landscape on touch devices, keeping controls accessible.

Fixed

• Desktop notifications — Clicking a new message notification on the desktop app now opens the correct channel instead of just focusing the main window.
• Meeting loading — Replaced multiple loading indicators with a single full-screen loader from the moment you open a meeting until the participant grid appears.
• Expired demo sessions — Demo rooms no longer mount a broken meeting interface when the session token expires, preventing error loops.
• Mobile chat button visibility — Icon-only buttons in the mobile web app now maintain correct sizing and spacing, preventing layout overflow on small screens.
• Whiteboard sharing — Images uploaded to the whiteboard now sync correctly for all participants, and the laser pointer works across all viewers.
• iOS demo audio — Resolved an issue on iOS where a single tap was insufficient to start audio, requiring a double tap to hear Mia.
• Avatar initials — User avatars now correctly display initials for names containing emojis or complex characters, preventing room crashes.
• Polling on expired tokens — The app now stops polling for participant data after repeated authentication failures, preventing infinite loading loops.
