Desktop auto-update, iOS share sheet, and Arabic meeting language withdrawn
This week ships a desktop auto-updater with a visible version number, an iOS share extension for sending content into InterMIND, and a pre-join prompt to open meetings in the desktop app. Arabic is withdrawn as a meeting language while it remains below our quality bar. Several recap, chat, demo, privacy, and mobile fixes improve reliability.
New
- Desktop auto-update — The desktop app now checks for updates on launch and every 6 hours, shows the current version in its menu, and notifies you with a single "click to restart" prompt when a new version is ready. Manual update checks always respond with a dialog.
- iOS Share Extension — You can now share text, links, images, videos, and files into InterMIND directly from the iOS share sheet, without switching apps first.
- Pre-join desktop app offer — When you open a meeting link in a Mac or Windows browser, the pre-join screen shows an "Open in desktop app" button next to Join. The page never auto-navigates away — if the app isn't installed, you can still join in the browser or download it.
Improved
- Meeting link sharing — The meeting room now has two clear buttons — Copy link and Share link — replacing the previous "Copy Link" plus a long, unreadable Meeting ID string. Copy link always works in one click; Share link uses your browser's native share sheet where available.
- Security page documentation — The /security page now explicitly documents media encryption (WebRTC DTLS-SRTP to our engine in France), at-rest encryption (Neon AES-256, Tigris SSE), and why end-to-end encryption isn't available (translation requires processing on our engine).
Fixed
- Arabic meeting language — Arabic has been withdrawn from voice and chat translation after sustained degradation below our quality bar. The Arabic website remains available; Arabic stays in our weekly benchmark and will return when it meets the threshold.
- Recap reliability — Three fixes: the recap address picker no longer goes unresponsive before the page fully loads, the first version of a recap now shows full text instead of only a diff, and recaps with a language tag that doesn't match their text are regenerated rather than shown untranslated.
- Unread badge with recap documents — The unread message badge no longer stays stuck on when the last message in a chat is a recap document.
- Demo companion behavior — Mia no longer switches to Ukrainian on a misdetected language tag from Russian speech, and no longer goes silent when the avatar is active.
- iOS Universal Links — Meeting invite links now open the iOS app directly instead of falling back to Safari. A team-ID mismatch in the app association file silently disabled the feature.
- Inbound email translation — Inbound emails are now attributed to the external sender and translated into the reader's language, instead of being treated as the host's own messages and left untranslated.
- Mobile share and upload — The mobile share screen now shows upload progress, guards against accidental navigation away during upload, and displays readable error messages.
- Privacy: account deletion and exports — Account deletion and expired data exports now permanently remove data from storage rather than marking it as hidden. Storage snapshots are purged by version ID.
- Pricing label truncation — "per user/month" and "paid yearly" labels no longer get cut off next to longer localized prices (e.g. BRL).
- Partner page claims — Removed white-label promises from the partner page. The interface, meeting links, and recap emails carry the InterMIND name; everything beyond that is per contract.
- Directory picker fields — The participant picker now shows job title and department; dead legacy fields have been removed.
- Security hardening — Fixes from our ongoing security review.
