Forward Deployed Engineer — make InterMIND work inside the customer's company

Dubai, UAE · full-time · on site with customers across the UAE and the Gulf · up to USD 100,000 a year

About the product

InterMIND is a communication space for teams that work across languages: meetings, chat, documents and recaps, each participant seeing and hearing everything in the language they think in. Web, iOS and Android, desktop. Around the room sits everything a company needs to adopt it: single sign-on and directory sync, roles and an audit log, a public API, a connector for AI assistants over MCP, a Slack app, calendar sync, email-in, data export — and the organization's own AI brain: every AI feature of an account runs on the model endpoint that account chooses, ours in the EU or the customer's own cloud tenant or server.

Why this role exists

A product is adopted when it works inside the customer's processes, not when it passes a demo. Between the two there is always engineering nobody planned for: an identity provider configured in a way the documentation never met, a CRM that has to receive every recap, a security team that wants the AI to run in their own tenant, a workflow that needs a feature we do not have yet.

We are a small self-funded team, and our first large deployments are ahead of us, not behind. You would be the first engineer in this role: the person a customer's team knows by name, and the person who decides what "deployed" means here.

What you will do

  • Deploy. Take an account from a signed agreement to daily use: single sign-on and directory, roles, calendars, the Slack app, the account's AI brain on the customer's endpoint — in their environment, with their IT and security people, on site.
  • Build what is missing. Integrations over our API and MCP connector, migration scripts, and — when the gap is in the product itself — the feature, in our codebase, through the same tests and review as any other change. The customer's case is the specification.
  • Talk to the customer yourself. Discovery, scoping, the weekly call, the uncomfortable conversation when something slipped. No account manager stands between you and them.
  • Bring the field back. What you had to work around at one customer becomes product for the next: a setting, a document, a fix, a feature. A workaround that stays a workaround is unfinished work.
  • Work before the contract too. A technical pilot with a prospect's real environment is often what closes the deal.

Who fits

  • An engineer first. Several years of shipping production software; comfortable across a TypeScript web stack, REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth/OIDC and SAML, a cloud console or three. You read an unfamiliar codebase and change it the same week.
  • Fluent with AI tooling. Most of our code is written with AI agents under engineering discipline — tests, mutation checks, review. You already work this way or want to.
  • Good in the room. You can explain a trade-off to a CIO and debug a proxy with a network admin on the same afternoon, and both trust you afterwards.
  • An owner. You would rather finish one deployment completely than start three. You say "this will not work, here is what will" early.
  • Languages. English good enough for precise writing and hard conversations. Arabic or any other language of the region is a strong plus.
  • Here. Based in Dubai or ready to relocate; most of the work happens at the customer's office, in the UAE and across the Gulf.

What we offer

  • Up to USD 100,000 a year, depending on experience. There is no personal income tax in the UAE.
  • A role with no layers: you work directly with the founders and the customer's decision makers, and what you learn in the field changes the product within days.
  • The first seat in a function you will shape: its methods, its tooling and, as customers arrive, its team.

How we hire

  1. A conversation — held in InterMIND, about deployments you carried and what went wrong in them.
  2. A paid trial task — a small, real piece of deployment work against a sandbox organization: an integration built over our API, documented the way you would hand it to a customer.
  3. An offer.

Apply

Send a short note about yourself, one deployment you carried from kickoff to daily use at a customer, and the hardest thing that stood in its way.
